The big night arrived!  Guests began to arrive as early as 4:30pm, and after about 30 people filled the Jepson Center For the Arts atrium, the memories really began to come forth.  There were many hugs, reminiscing, picture-taking, and consumption of great food (provided by Carlito’s Mexican Bar & Grill)!

The premiere of ‘Life Path:  The Director’s Cut’ officially began at 5pm, with the film starting at 6:30pm in the Jepson Auditorium.  Immediately following the film was a raffle, in which 11 DVDs of ‘Life Path:  The Director’s Cut’ and 4 ‘Life Path’ posters were given out.  Following the raffle was a Q&A session with Areya Simmons, the writer and director of ‘Life Path’.  Then, as a special surprise, a documentary, ‘The Making of Life Path’, put together by Thomas Stern (also the On-set Videographer), was shown to the audience, which included the cast, some of the crew, parents, and friends.  After many laughs thanks to the documentary, more questions were asked by the viewers.  Everyone then returned to the atrium for more discussion, hugs, and photos.  It was truly an evening to remember.

Many thanks go out to Mieko Tominaga for her tremendous hard work and support in helping to make the premiere happen.  I could not have done it without her!  Also, big thank-yous go to Daniel Dennis and Blue McElroy for their professional picture-taking and great support!  Another huge shout-out goes to Promyce Johnson and Yemaya Johnson for their support and great help in organizing the food table, tearing raffle tickets, and tear-down following the event.  I also send gigantic amounts of gratitude to my talented cast and crew, who made this project possible in the first place.  Last but certainly not least, huge thanks go to my mother, Stephanie Simmons, for her unmatched love, support, tips, and advice from afar.

THANK YOU ALL FOR MAKING THIS MAGICAL EVENING SO SPECIAL AND MEMORABLE!!!  YOU HAVE MY UNDYING GRATITUDE!!!

– Areya Simmons, Writer/Director, ‘Life Path’
